In our home as I was growing up it was my mothers duty to do the following: first and foremost take care of the children Thank you for asking…… From the family of ten children, four are still practicing the Amish lifestyle and six are not. It is unusual for sixty percent of a family to leave. Unfortunately that was not the case with our family. The roles within an Amish family are quite different than most American families. Or at least that is the way I see it now that I have lived in both worlds. The examples that I provide below are from experience as I was growing up.
